Amita Patel, OD, FAAO

Optometrist

Dr. Patel is an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She received her BA degree with honors from University of Houston with a minor in Chemistry. She is also a proud graduate of the University of Houston – College of Optometry (2006). After receiving her residency training at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with emphasis in primary care/ocular pathology, she moved on to practice in a multidisciplinary setting at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. From there she returned to her hometown and the Kelsey Seybold Clinic where she dedicated the past 10 years of her professional career to serving and collaborating in medical eye care with Ophthalmology and other specialties in the Greater Houston area. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and her clinical interests are in ocular disease, specifically dry eyes, glaucoma, retinal diseases, and post Lasik & cataract co-management. She is currently a valued member of HOPE Clinic and excited to serve a diverse community of pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Patel is passionate about serving and has been a part of various international humanitarian trips. She believes in offering her best with compassionate and detail-oriented patient care.
