Dear HOPE Clinic,

I want to thank you for your many years of help and continuing support of me and my children. I came to Houston from New Orleans in 2008 after just losing my husband to suicide. It had been really difficult for me and my children after his death. It had not only been a tremendous struggle with both financially and emotionally but having an autistic adolescent and another child with emotional and rheumatoid issues made everything even worse.

I was looking through the internet for help and after calling many health centers, I was kindly greeted by HOPE Clinic staff who patiently listened to my story and offered to assist me in both social and medical needs. Due to inability to pay, HOPE Clinic helped me with my visit cost and helped my children applied for food supplements, social services, and Medicaid. HOPE Clinic has always been like a family to me. After our move to Houston, I didn’t have a job, I had debts with my husband’s death and I have no way to make Christmas special for my children. HOPE Clinic helped us get through our first tough Christmas and made Christmas special for me and my children with presents and some warm coats. Nothing can explain what that had meant to me and my children. We thank HOPE Clinic for being here for us all these years. Like a family, HOPE Clinic is our health home that we can always count on.
