PLANNING A FAMILY? Start with HOPE

From thinking about pregnancy to preparing for baby, every step brings new questions, decisions, and moments that matter.
At HOPE Clinic, pregnancy care is about more than preparing for a baby. It’s about caring for the mother, supporting the family, and making sure every woman has the information and resources she needs at every stage of her journey.
Whether you are thinking about starting a family, expecting a baby, or adjusting to life with a newborn, HOPE Clinic is here to walk alongside you.
BEFORE PREGNANCY: YOUR HEALTH COMES FIRST
Planning for a family starts with taking care of yourself. HOPE Clinic provides women with the guidance, education, and care they need to better understand their health and prepare for a healthy pregnancy.
Our team can help women navigate questions about reproductive health, nutrition, fertility, and preparing their bodies for pregnancy - so they can make informed decisions about their future.
DURING PREGNANCY: YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE
Pregnancy brings excitement, questions, and sometimes uncertainty. At HOPE Clinic, our maternal health services are designed to support women throughout pregnancy and help them feel informed and prepared.
Through programs such as Centering Pregnancy, Becoming a Mom, and Delfina, mothers have opportunities to learn about nutrition, stress, labor and delivery, postpartum health, newborn care, and more. These programs also create a sense of community by connecting mothers with their care team and other women experiencing pregnancy at the same time.
AFTER BABY ARRIVES: SUPPORT CONTINUES
The journey doesn't end when your baby is born.
The first weeks and months can bring new questions about your baby's health, your own recovery, feeding, sleep, and adjusting to life as a new family. HOPE Clinic continues to support mothers during this important transition with resources and care designed to help families feel confident and connected.
BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT WHEN YOU NEED IT
Breastfeeding can be a wonderful experience, but it doesn't always come easily. HOPE Clinic provides lactation group classes for OB patients and individual consultations, available both in person and virtually.
Mothers can meet with a lactation consultant before delivery or receive one-on-one support afterward, including help with latching, pumping, milk supply, and other feeding concerns.
CARE THAT UNDERSTANDS YOU
At HOPE Clinic, we know that every mother, pregnancy, and family is different. That's why we work to provide care that is culturally and linguistically responsive, welcoming women and families from across our diverse Houston community.
From the first questions about starting a family to the first days with your newborn, HOPE Clinic is here to support you - and your growing family with care, education, and HOPE.
SOMES TO TURN TO

Meredith Jefferson, Clinical Services and Quality Improvement Manager, Certified Nurse Midwife, and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, helps lead HOPE Clinic's lactation initiatives and provides prenatal and breastfeeding education.
“I hear so many questions from new moms all the time: Is my baby getting enough milk? How do I know if my baby is latching correctly? How often should my baby be feeding?
These are questions we can work through together. We can look at your baby’s latch, feeding patterns, and what’s happening during a feeding, so you can better understand what your baby needs.” - Meredith Jefferson.
A lactation consultation isn't just about answering questions. It gives moms the opportunity to feed their baby with a lactation professional right there to observe what is happening and offer guidance based on what they see. Meredith can also help moms understand feeding cues, positioning, and what to look for as their baby grows.
And support doesn't have to wait until after delivery. Moms can meet with a lactation consultant during pregnancy to talk through breastfeeding before the baby arrives, or schedule an individual consultation after delivery, either in person or virtually.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Where HOPE Meets Community
At HOPE Clinic, community impact is not something we celebrate once a year. It is what we do every day!
Across our five locations, HOPE Clinic welcomes thousands of patients and families who rely on us for more than medical care. From primary and specialty services to dental, vision, behavioral health, maternal health, pharmacy, and community programs, we meet people where they are and help them move toward healthier futures.
National Health Center Week gave us a moment to celebrate what makes HOPE Clinic special: the patients who trust us, the staff who serve them, and the community that inspires our work.
Every visit, every conversation, every connection to a resource, and every family we support represents what community health care is all about.
This is HOPE in action. This is our community. And this is why we’re here

SEEING HOPE THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENS
National Health Center Week was a celebration of the people, partnerships, and purpose that make HOPE Clinic what it is.
Throughout the week, we celebrated the people at the heart of our mission, our dedicated staff, the patients who trust us, and the partners who help us strengthen our community. Each celebration was a reminder that HOPE Clinic is built on relationships and a shared commitment to a healthier Houston.
We also invited our community to experience HOPE through art with a special exhibition featuring photography, multimedia collage, video art, and visual storytelling exploring healing, organ donation and transplantation, and the many ways hope can take shape.
The exhibition featured Balloons That Stay by Nurra Yazici, along with The Lollipop-Eyed Girl, Pijamas Breathe, Children’s Choir, N(oelle) Therapy, Add a Pajama for Every Day Full of Hope, and Silent Celebration.
Together, these works invite us to pause, reflect, and see familiar experiences, healing, loss, care, and hope, from a new perspective.
At HOPE Clinic, we believe hope can be found in many places: in a healing journey, a helping hand, a caring conversation, or a work of art that makes us see something differently.
That is the spirit of HOPE, and it is something worth celebrating every day.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Making the Path to Citizenship a Little Clearer
For many people, becoming a U.S. citizen can come with questions about where to begin, how to complete the application, and where to turn for help. Throughout the year, HOPE Clinic has been offering Citizenship Information Sessions and Workshops approximately every other month, giving community members opportunities to learn about the naturalization process and ask questions along the way.
Through in-clinic screenings and community outreach, we have reached approximately 19,983 individuals and partnered with EMAGE and Houston Volunteer Lawyers to connect community members with citizenship education, application assistance, and legal support.
To date, 32 individuals have completed their citizenship applications at no cost, helping reduce some of the financial and legal barriers that can make the process feel out of reach.
The program continues throughout the year.
