Dental Patient Support Specialist
Languages: Bilingual English and Spanish
Dental Patient Support Specialist is a patient service-oriented position that demands cheerful, friendly and polite demeanor at all times. This position serves as an ambassador of HOPE Clinic and will facilitate patient flow, register new patients, update and collect patient demographics; assist with insurance verification and with enrolling qualify patients to HOPE Clinic’s sliding scale program. He/she will also provide support to record keeping and tracking of patient information through our electronic health record systems in compliance with HOPE Clinic& FQHC guidelines.
Languages: Bilingual Preferred
The eClinicalWorks Administrator, under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer, will oversee the day-to-day support of both production and test eCW platforms. In addition to playing a reactive role in support of eCW, the Administrator will be expected to be proactive in the research of new features and functions and will assist the Operations and Clinical teams with incorporating these new ways of doing things into their standard operating procedures.
Eligibility Support Specialist
Languages: Bilingual English and Arabic/Burmese/Chinese/Spanish/Vietnamese
Under general supervision, the Eligibility Support Specialist will verify patient eligibility and assist in health program applications to the patients of Asian American Health Coalition of the Greater Houston Area (AAHC) DBA HOPE Clinic. Maintains all patient information and documents while providing high quality customer care services to patients.
Languages: Bilingual English and Spanish/Vietnamese/Arabic/Burmese
Optometric Technician will need to work in a fast-paced academic medical optometric setting located within a Federally Qualified Health Center and wants the opportunity for further growth in eye care. He/she will perform a wide variety of front desk tasks such as registering new patients, scheduling appointments, handling insurance forms, accepting payments, and screening telephone calls, verifying insurance for walk-in patients. The optometric technician would also be responsible for direct patient care in the clinical and optical setting and be comfortable assisting patients all ages including infants and geriatric patients of various non-English ethnic backgrounds. We are open to training the right candidate if he/she shows eagerness and flexibility to learn new skills and possesses strong customer service experience.
Patient Support Specialist
Languages: Bilingual English and Burmese/Spanish/Vietnamese
Facilitate patient flow by notifying the appropriate staff of the patient’s arrival. Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting patient detailed patient information including personal and financial information. Provide support to medical records department managing patient records in compliance with HOPE Clinic guidelines.
Volunteering for the Asian American Health Coalition (AAHC) dba HOPE Clinic is a unique experience due to the fact that AAHC works alongside a community health center. Opportunities exist to interact with patients, doctors, and community leaders.
Duties as a Volunteer:
- Your duties as a volunteer will vary based upon factors such as experience and certification.
- Examples of such duties include:
- Helping patients with forms and applications
- Contacting patients about appointments
- Administrative duties
- Attending health fairs
- Community projects
- Advocacy and development of projects
- Civic Engagement
Minimum Requirements/Education: No experience necessary, however high school graduation is required. Please list your education and specific skills or certifications on the application.

Clinical Rotations’ Description: AAHC proudly opens our doors to host clinical rotations at HOPE Clinic in a variety of disciplines including family medicine, pediatrics, and OB/GYN. Please note that due to a high volume of applicants, only those who are matched with a preceptor will be contacted.
Effective August 2019 until further notice: HOPE Clinic is currently postponing its Nurse Practitioner (NP) clinical rotations program. Due to the current program changes at HOPE Clinic, there is limited capacity for NP students at this time. Please check back at a later time for any updates regarding the program
