Medical Billing and Collection Specialist
The medical billing and collection specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely submission of electronic and/or paper claims, monitoring claim status, researching rejections and denials, documenting related account activities, posting adjustments and collections of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, and commercial insurance payers. The medical billing and collection specialist must possess critical thinking skills and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid eligibility requirements as well as commercial insurance payer payment methods to correctly record contractual adjustments base on payer contracts or government regulations. In addition, the medical billing and collection specialist must demonstrate proficiency with billing system to ensure all functionality is utilized for the utmost efficient processing of claims.
Working with medical and clinical providers, the Care Coordinator will provide patient referral, navigation, and eligibility assistance to patients of Asian American Health Coalition (AAHC) DBA HOPE Clinic. Responsible for coordination of navigation activities based on a given assignment of providers or services types, and will work hand-in-hand with peer case coordinators and clinic staff to provide quality patient navigation.
Call Center Agent
Under general supervision, the Call Center Agent will be responsible for professionally responding to telephone inquiries from callers and ensuring patient satisfaction by providing quality service, identifying patient needs and assisting them with issues/concerns related to health care issues.
Patient Support Specialist
Facilitate patient flow by notifying the appropriate staff of the patient’s arrival. Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting patient detailed patient information including personal and financial information. Provide support to medical records department managing patient records in compliance with HOPE Clinic guidelines.
Provide outreach, health education, navigation, and eligibility assistance to patients of Asian American Health Coalition (AAHC) DBA HOPE Clinic. Perform HOPE Clinic outreaching, Zika Outreach, ACA enrollment activities as well as health awareness initiatives and civic engagement initiatives. Responsible for coordination of outreach activities and screening for Marketplace Insurance in-house as well as in the community. Responsible for helping more programming efforts forward.
Eligibility Support Specialist
Under general supervision, the Eligibility Support Specialist will verify patient eligibility and assist in health program applications to the patients of Asian American Health Coalition of the Greater Houston Area (AAHC) DBA HOPE Clinic. Maintains all patient information and documents while providing high quality customer care services to patients.
IT Support Technician
The IT Support Technician’s primary responsibility is to support daily technical operations at HOPE Clinic. This position will be responsible for supporting network databases and systems, updating system hardware and software, troubleshooting system errors, and assisting team members in supporting all data security and optimization.
Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of licensed healthcare provider.
We are looking for an optometric technician that can work in a fast-paced academic medical optometric setting located within a federally qualified health center and wants the opportunity for further growth in eye care. The optometric tech will perform a wide variety of front desk tasks such as registering new patients, scheduling appointments, handling insurance forms, accepting
payments, and screening telephone calls. The optometric technician would also be responsible for direct patient care in the clinical and optical setting and be comfortable assisting patients all ages including infants and geriatric patients of various non-English ethnic backgrounds. We are open to training the right candidate if he/she shows eagerness and flexibility to learn new skills and possesses strong customer service experience.
Full-Time (Temp to hire)
The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility is to provide accounting support to finance department at HOPE Clinic and is primarily responsible for monthly reporting, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations and year-end reporting.
Behavioral Health Consultant
Full-Time (Temp to hire)
As a member of a primary care team providing brief consulting visits to patients and their primary care providers in a manner that upholds the health center’s mission and quality standards and results in better patient health outcomes and overall satisfaction.
Project Management and Outreach Coordinator
The Project Management and Outreach Coordinator will lead department team in planning and strategizing community engagement initiatives, health initiatives, coordinate and oversee community based wellness programming, and execute administrative and leadership tasks for the program. The position will also do grant upkeep and programmatic reports along with periodic operational assessments.
Volunteering for the Asian American Health Coalition (AAHC) dba HOPE Clinic is a unique experience due to the fact that AAHC works alongside a community health center. Opportunities exist to interact with patients, doctors, and community leaders.
Duties as a Volunteer:
- Your duties as a volunteer will vary based upon factors such as experience and certification.
